Finishing The Story

There is nothing quite like a good photographic mystery.  I find myself constantly finding old photographs and negatives and trying to figure out the history behind them.  I don’t know exactly why I’m drawn to it, only that I feel like the untold stories of ordinary lives are important and should be remembered and learned from. Recently I acquired a lot of around 100 negatives.  Not having any idea what would be in there, I thought maybe a few decent family photos.

Little did I know a very grand mystery was about to unfold.  Photos spanning what looks like the 1900s to the 1950s or 60s.  Images of people, places, events, all over the map.  It is such an adventure trying to figure out what all was going on.  Someone, at some point in time, thought these images were important.  They meant something to someone.  So that is where my journey begins.  I’m attempting to finish their story.  I am currently working on scanning on the negatives into my computer and will go from there with research and then printing.  Of course I want to share this journey with you all.  So keep an eye out for the exciting mystery images to come.

Here is a sneak peek of some the first I’ve scanned into the computer (and some of my favorites so far):
