Monochrome

I have been shooting a lot of monochrome images lately.  There is just something about a black and white image that just draws me in.  I think, for me at least,  seeing an image in black and white makes me focus on what is there because of the lack of color. Shadows are so prominent in monochrome.  They tell the whole story, even of things that aren’t blatantly in the picture.  It adds this element of intrigue and mystery and story telling all at once.  Not to mention black and white has always give this timeless feel to a photograph for me.  Don’t get me wrong, color photography is beautiful and artistic.  There is just a magical quality to a good range of black and white tones that always leaves me wondering and wanting to know more about a photograph. In The Shadows
